Seven Washburn area homes sold last month.

Sales ranged from $77,000 for a fixer-upper on Bayfield St to $550,000 for a sweet, newer home pocketed in twenty wooded acres on S Maple Hill Rd.

834 W Bayfield St sold a few years ago for $56,500. It needed a lot of work then, and while the Sellers invested some time and money in the home, there’s still a lot of work to be done.. Also in town, the Methodist church on Washington sold for $90,000. With all the classic features of a church, this could be transformed into a stunning single family home or a multi-unit property. I’m always interested to see what people can do with these old churches. On the east end of town, a one level home on E 4th with a finished basement on a 2/5 of an acre lot sold in 5 days for $50,000 more than the initial asking price of $250,000. At $300,000, the property sold just above the year’s median sale price for Washburn homes: $292,500

Also in town, a condo on the main drag sold for $290,000. This unit doesn’t allow short-term rentals, so it’ll make a great owner-occupied space or a long-term rental.

Outside of town, a small, no-frills earth home on just under five acres off Church Corner Rd sold in 20 days for a few thousand more than the sellers were asking. At  $152,000, this is a heck of a good deal. As well, a two bed, two bath home on Valhalla Ln, one with more wood paneling than I’ve ever before seen in a home, sold fairly quickly, 13 days, but sold for $273,000, $17,000 less than the sellers were asking.

Commercially, an old bait shop, 1819 W Bayfield St, a building just around the bend from Washburn proper, one that’s been on and off the market for years now, finally changed ownership. It sold for $42,500.

Landwise, the only sale was a lot on W 5th. It sold for $16,000.
